Recommendations

To make the content of your experience as appealing as possible, here you can find a series of suggestions to guide and assist you.

We want to help you inspire tourists to visit your page and encourage them to book the experience they want. The tips listed below are just some ideas. It is essential that the experience conveys your essence, your message, the way you are, your way of doing things. Spain.info is a shop window for your business and the person that knows it best and how to offer it is you.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR TITLE

A good title must be able to define the content of the experience, placing it in the destination, using the least number of words possible Use it to convey action and emotion.

For optimum positioning of your experience in search engines, we recommend using key words in natural search phrases, like: “Bicycle route through Segovia’s historical centre.”

ADD MORE DETAIL IN THE DESCRIPTION

Make the tourist fall in love with your offer by providing greater detail of your experience. Make the most of this opportunity! Try to respond to the questions:

  • Where am I going to enjoy the experience? What is so special about this place?
  • What will we do and what resorts or places will we visit? If your experience follows an itinerary or sequence of activities, try to describe them in a structured way in paragraphs. Highlight a certain point along your route or an activity that makes it different.
  • What services are included or excluded from the price? If you include any services within the activity, such as entrance charges to monuments, lunch or dinner, consumption, etc., describe what it is and whether or not it is included in the price shown.
  • Are there any restrictions or recommendations? In terms of age, knowledge, fitness… or if you need to bring certain items such as comfortable, waterproof shoes, or lightweight luggage… If you can provide it, don't hesitate to mention it, whether it is included in the price or not. A tourist travelling from afar will appreciate it.
  • Is the experience aimed at a specific audience? Even though the experience can be enjoyed by everyone, if you created it with a particular audience in mind (families, children, students, travellers with disabilities, etc.) don't forget to state this.
  • Why are you the best choice for this experience? What are the details that make you different, what training do you have, or how do you treat your customers?

A PICTURE SPEAKS A THOUSAND WORDS

20% of people remember what they read and 80% remember what they see. Select the photos and videos that go well with your experience, they're an essential part of designing your experience:

  • Include people enjoying the experience, as it gives tourists a guarantee, makes them feel closeness to the experience, shows them the environment in which it takes places, and enriches the experience.
  • The main photo will be the picture that illustrates your experience, choose the one you think best defines it.
  • Choose quality photos and videos for the website, don’t use blurry, dark or pixelated pictures, and include well-edited videos.
  • Correctly label photos in each language. Besides being very useful for tourists, it’s a good way to improve the positioning of your experience in image search engines.

HOW DO YOU WANT TOURISTS TO GET TO YOU?

When a tourist visiting www.spain.info likes your experience, they click on “Book” to get to you. You can choose to be contacted by landing on your website or via an email form. We recommend including a specific page on your website where the experience appears. We make it easier for tourists to book your experience in 5 easy steps: “I visit the official tourism portal Spain.info - I like your experience – I click to book it – I get more information on your website – Booking done!”.

If you change your website or include a new language, update it at www.spain.info.

TALK TO THEM IN THEIR OWN LANGUAGE

When a tourist browses on www.spain.info in their own language, reading and becoming inspired to plan their next trip, it makes it much easier for them to be interested in what we have to offer.

You can publish your experience in English, French, Italian, German and Portuguese. With the title and description in as many languages as possible, visibility of your experience will be much higher.

WHERE? POSITION YOUR EXPERIENCE ON THE MAP

Foreign tourists visiting Spain for the first time need to be able to locate the places they will be visiting on the map and visualise the distances between them.

Make sure you geolocate your experience correctly. Where is the meeting point for tourists? What places will you be visiting? Mark them all on the map and your experience will be located and related to the promotional content on www.spain.info about these places.

DATES OF THE EXPERIENCE

The activity dates is the time period during which you want to have your experience published on www.spain.info. Bear in mind that international tourists plan their holidays 3 to 4 months in advance. It’s important that your experience is published at the very least during this envisaged period of time.

A common mistake is to confuse the dates for the experience activity with the availability date. www.spain.info is your shop window; tourists will always make the booking directly with you, availability dates are not necessary.

INSPIRE PEOPLE WITH YOUR BEST EXPERIENCES

Showing many very similar experiences makes it difficult for tourists to search and may result in them leaving the section or page.

Inspire them with your best experiences, well described and accompanied by good multimedia material. Attract their attention and once they reach you, offer your full catalogue, adapting it to suit their time requirements or preferences, as necessary.

CHANGE, ADAPT AND IMPROVE

Modify your experiences whenever necessary. Whenever you include a new feature or a new experience, create new multimedia content or have a description translated into a new language, remember to update it on www.spain.info and communicate it to your international audience.
